Life in 2012

I have the best family in the entire world.... see?:

Words to Live By:

It has been way too long since I have been on our blog! Life has been busy lately. We had such a great break at home, surrounded by all our family. We are extremely blessed. Now, we are back in good 'ol Rexburg. Roger is in what they call the hardest semester of the nursing program. It definitely keeps him busy but I am so proud of him. I, on the other hand, am completing an internship with Vintage Road Photographers and looking desperately for a job. But, I have also been working on some crafts, working on being a good housewife and trying to enjoy this free time while I can. I thought I would share some yummy cupcakes I made and some onesie I dressed up. I am thinking about starting to make things on etsy?! Anyone have an etsy account and can give me some tips? Hope everyone is doing great! I hope to be a lot better at updating this thing this year!

  1. I'm glad you posted on Facebook, I didn't know you have a blog! I have an etsy account, but haven't done anything in a few months. I make car seat covers (like tents over infant car seats). The tough thing with etsy is that you never really know when you will sell stuff. For whatever reason one week I sold nothing and then the next I'd sell 2 covers. I only had about 15 listed at a time, and they were $35 each. Maybe if I had more inventory on there then my stuff would come up more often? It was kind of a hassle to ship things, because it wasn't consistent but you wanted to get your item shipped off asap. So it wasn't like every Wednesday you go to the post office, it could be anytime. It was fun and the fees for etsy are low, so it's a good way to start getting things out there. Some of my friends were hesitant because they said there is already so much stuff on there, how would anyone even find their stuff, but somehow it works. Before you start listing I would make a bunch of things at as low cost as you can- by now I can't keep up with it so any covers I already made I just give as baby shower presents, so no harm done. Cute stuff by the way! The bird is my fave. Good luck!

  2. I love the onesies. Totally cute. I do not have an etsy account. I craft but mostly just for stuff around our house. I have never thought to sell it. But I do follow a lot of craft blogs and have seen a ton of Etsy sites. Chantalle gave you some great advice. If you are serious about it my suggestion would be to do a tutorial for something on a already existing craft blog and that way you can get your name out there. It was so fun seeing you after Christmas. We need to spend more time together.
